The seafood is often seasoned with a delicate Cajun spice blend that, while sometimes subtle, enhances the natural sweetness of the shellfish. For those who appreciate crispy bites, the Popcorn Crawdads and Calamari, along with the Fried Shrimp Basket and crunchy Fried Pickles, offer irresistible textures and deep-fried goodness.
One cannot overlook the comforting starters such as the creamy Clam Chowder Soup, which perfectly balances richness with a hint of spice, or the delightful Seafood Noodles, a hearty dish layered with a medley of fresh sea treasures. For those searching for a refreshing sip, innovative drinks like the Spiked Strawberry Lemonade add a vibrant, fruity twist to your meal.
The spacious and casual dining room is perfect for everything from laid-back lunch outings to lively evening gatherings, accommodating groups with ease in a clean, warm environment. Customers appreciate the generous portions and the overall fulfilling culinary experience, as echoed by Eugene Torneros who praised the “great food, great service, and appropriate atmosphere.”
While some diners wish for a stronger Cajun seasoning or customization options for sides like corn and potatoes, the authentic, hearty flavors combined with attentive service more than compensate, as Shelley Shelle highlights her pleasurable first visit with deliciously seasoned shrimp and sausage.

Great food, great service, and appropriate atmosphere. Had the King crab legs and clam chowder, calamari, and chicken strips and Cajun fries. The food did not disappoint. Over all fulfilling experience.
Excellent dungeon is crab, clean, and warm when I received it. my only issue is I ordered it with garlic butter, and all I tasted was just butter no garlic. But I have to say they have reasonable prices for the amount of crab potato and corn that you get. I was not a fan of the potato or corn. I wish they had an option to leave that out that way it would not be wasted.. The corn taste like it was frozen, and the potato had no flavor. But I ordered from there for the crab, so I’m happy. I also ordered the seafood pasta, not a lot of flavor there it tasted mostly like Pepper and it was pretty dry. They left the shell on the shrimp. I’m not a big fan of peeling off shell when I’m trying to eat pasta.
First time here was really delicious! I got the shrimp no heads, eggs, sausage and corn. lemon pepper flavored mild spicey. Our server was also very nice
I like the comfortable and huge dining room at Captain Crab Seafood Restaurant in Elk Grove. They have one of the biggest dining rooms for the type of boiling seafood restaurant in the Sacramento area. However, I wish the favor could be a little stronger on their boiling seafood. I have the Cajun seasoning with medium spicy. It hardly tasted of any seasoning at all. It is very little spicy as well. So you may want to order flaming hot or volcano if you like spicy seafood. The Cajun fries don’t taste with enough seasoning as well. The service is slow, considering not too many customers dine in at the time.
Sauce is delicious and the food is good although for the price it would be nice if the crab and shrimp were bigger.
Food was good. The spice levels aren't as expected. We ordered medium spicy and ended up with extra hot afterwards. Even than it wasn't as spicy but it was good with Cajun seasoning. We went on a Tuesday night, made reservation which really wasn't necessary because the place was very empty. But I'm sure weekends are pretty busy. So call ahead. They do take reservations. Great customer service and clean restaurant. Good amount of food with the money you spend.
